BSHP Conference Funding

The British Society for the History of Philosophy  (BSHP) invites applications to its Conference Funding Schemes. For details, visit:  http://www.bshp.org.uk/conferences/funding

Major Award: A major award of £1,000 will be made annually for an international conference on any aspect of the history of philosophy.  The theme of the conference should be one that would be attractive for a special issue of the BJHP, to be guest-edited, as appropriate, by one or more of the conference organizers. The conference must take place within the period, November 2013 – April 2015.

Minor Awards: A number of smaller awards of up to £500 will also be offered in respect of conferences and workshops in the history of philosophy.   These conferences must be scheduled to occur within the period, November 2013 – October 2014.

All conferences must be held in the UK.

Applications should include details of the type of award sought, the conference title and outline description, location, length of conference, organizing committee and contact details, draft conference programme, and details of any invited or desired speakers.  Applications should also include a detailed outline budget of estimated costs and should give details of any applications made in respect of the conference to other funding bodies and their outcome (if known). The deadline for applications is 15 September 2013.   Decisions will be announced before the end of October 2013.
